This is one of the new “Time Limit” modes of Fortnite, it is very interesting and gamers can not be ignored.
Fortnite game modes such as 50v50, Blitz or Infinity Gauntlet, though only a short time away, allow players to relax and play in a whole new way so they are very popular. And recently, Epic Games debuted with Solo Showdown, a mode that only lasted for a limited time, this is Fortnite’s latest Battle Royale mode.
Unlike the other Time Limit modes previously added to the game, Solo Showdown will not change the core gameplay of the current Solo Mode, which will still adhere to the same rules as the Standard Play Solo mode. Although this mode does not bring major changes to the Fortnite Battle Royale gameplay, it will provide the “ultimate challenge of survival.” Players will participate in a “fierce battle” experience, as they will face another “selective opponent” who is involved.
Scores are as follows: The winner of the match is 100 points and those in the lower position will receive a slightly lower score. And those who finish between 76 and 100 will receive 25 points.
And the top 100 players in the Solo Showdown will receive a large number of awards after the event ends. Awards are as follows:
- Placement of 51 – 100 will be rewarded with 7,500 V-Bucks
- Placements 5 – 50 will be rewarded with 13,500 V-Bucks
- Placements 2-4 will be rewarded with 25,000 V-Bucks
- No. 1 position will be rewarded with 50,000 V-Bucks.
In addition, players are given more new skins and cosmetics.
To qualify for the competition, players must compete in at least 50 games of the Solo Showdown. And only the results of the first 50 games are included in the total accumulated points to prevent players trying to play more games to increase their score. Fortunately, all players will unlock a unique spray when completing 50 games, so even if they do not win the V-Buck, there is still a reason to play.
It is clear that this mode targets the most skilled players in the Fortnite Battle Royale. According to Epic, Solo Showdown is just a stepping stone to finding a way to create more active events for all types of players. Epic will want to know whether Solo Showdown makes the lower skill players feel abandoned, making them feel as if they want to play game better, etc.
Fortnite has over 40 million players, and has a lot of skill levels, so making people feel included and entertaining is important to keep them loyal to the game. Epic is considering a way for players with lower skill levels to participate in this mode of play. And Epic will have a formal announcement next week.
The Solo Showdown is currently in operation and will remain available until Monday, May 21, at 10am ET. However do not worry the previous players will have more advantage over themselves because the score is only calculated with the first 50 games. Quickly join and show off your skills and get lots of attractive presents.
